There is a sign both for and from God
Made of stones on a hill in Kansas
By a working man who knew
We’ve each had so many second chances
Over one hundred years ago,
That young builder wanted to show
Like flowers that follow the sun
He was beholdin’ to the One
Rocks that were part of an ancient sea,
Spelled out a message sent from a tree
That beautiful stone tapestry
Spelled the words, “Christ Died For Me”!
Over two thousand years ago
A young builder wanted to show
Like flowers that follow the sun
He was obedient to the One
The wood that made up that tree
Held a message for every “me”
That a Man from Galilee...
Yes it was He...”Christ Died For Me”!
Over six thousand years ago
A Master Builder wanted to show
Like flowers that follow the sun
He knew what had to be done
The first man was told of a tree
But the man thought more of being just “me”
And like Adam I deserve apathy,
But instead, “Christ Died For Me”!
There is a sign both for and from God
Made of stones on a hill in Kansas
This sign reminds me that I am never alone
“Christ Died For Me” is written in stone
And like flowers that follow the sun
I see God for what He has done…….FOR ME!!!!
What a wonderful statement about the values of the people in the town that I was lucky enough to grow up in.
